Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Aawaaz Soundbox - UPI Alerts mobile application (“App”). The app is for Indian shopkeepers, merchants, and businesses to receive instant voice alerts for UPI payment notifications on their phones — without requiring a physical soundbox.
Sensitive payment-related data is processed locally whenever possible. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information described here.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Payment notification data
Reads UPI payment notifications from supported payment apps for voice alerts. May include transaction amount, time, payment app name (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, etc.), and payment status.
Processed locally on your device. UPI PIN, bank passwords, and card details are not stored.
1.2 Device information
Device model, Android version, app version, and device identifiers for analytics and crash reporting.
1.3 Usage analytics
App usage statistics, crash logs, feature usage, subscription status, and alert count for free-tier limits.
1.4 User preferences & settings
Language, voice preferences, volume, alert customization, and premium subscription information.
2. Information We DO NOT Collect
- UPI PINs
- Bank credentials
- Card details
- SMS (as a general collection category — notification access is used only for supported payment apps)
- Contacts
- Photos or media
- Live location
- Personal banking passwords
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Core functionality
Voice alerts, support for multiple UPI apps, local transaction history, and your saved settings.
3.2 Improving the app
Crash diagnosis, performance monitoring, feature usage analysis, and voice quality improvements.
3.3 Subscription & billing
Verify subscription status, enable premium features, and process payments and renewals through Razorpay (as described in the app).
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Local storage
Transaction history, timestamps, voice settings, and analytics summaries are stored mostly on your device.
4.2 Security
We use encrypted local storage, secure communication where applicable, and restricted access practices. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Permissions Used
- Notification access — Detect UPI notifications from supported payment apps only.
- Audio / volume — Play voice alerts at your chosen volume.
- Internet — Analytics, crash reporting, subscription verification, and optional cloud text-to-speech.
6. Third-Party Services
We may use services such as Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Razorpay, Google TTS, and Google Cloud TTS. Each provider may collect limited technical data according to its own privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
Local data is kept until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear app storage. Analytics data may be retained for up to 24 months.
8. Your Rights
You may:
- Delete transaction history within the app
- Revoke notification access in Android settings
- Disable analytics where the app provides that option
- Cancel or manage subscriptions through Razorpay or in-app billing settings
- Stop using the App at any time
9. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted in the App or on related platforms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
